Asian sweet and sour, slightly spicy stir-fry – chicory

Ingredients

White or Red Chicory
Garlic
Ketchup of Tomato paste
Soy sauce
Sambal
Paprika
Vinegar
Sugar
Salt
Pepper

Preparation method

Wash the chicory, cut out the hard core and then into wide strips.

Heat the oil in the wok or frying pan and fry the chicory for about 3 minutes, stirring. Squeeze the garlic over the top and stir-fry for a while.

Sauce:
Stir the ketchup, soy sauce, sambal, paprika, vinegar and sugar together and add this to the chicory.

Stir-fry for another 3 minutes and taste. If you want something spicier, you can add some sambal or possibly some of the other seasonings, so that the dish is exactly your taste. Add salt and pepper to taste if necessary.
